Motorsport is my passion, Rallying is my obsession.
For over 25 years I have been involved in Motorsport, organising and officiating at events and as a rally co-driver from Single Venues to full Internationals in cars ranging from Historic Mini’s to World Rally Cars. I am also a licensed Rally Clerk of the Course, licensed member of Rally GB Safety Car (GB round of WRC), a former member of the MSA’s Rallies Committee, a current member of the BTRDA Rallies Committee, ex-Vice Chairman of my local Motorsport UK Regional Association (ACSMC), and current member of the Executive and a Motorsport UK Steward.
So how did HQ Motorport come about, and before that RallyMatcher?
Well in the past I had regular requests for me to co-drive, or if I am not available could I recommend anyone else to fill the seat and although my phone book is relatively extensive after all those years in the sport, I regularly struggled to find someone to fill a vacant seat at short notice or with the right license or experience and so in 2010 I decided to collate a database of co-drivers who were available and willing to sit with drivers of all levels and experience.
The database was used for both one offs and whole championships and in the time it had been running had proven to be very successful with matching drivers, co-drivers, and mechanics, with members being from not just the UK but Europe and the America’s.
In 2017 I choose to rest the service as I was increasing my co-driver duties with a return to the British Rally Championship and so instead of finding drivers and co-drivers looking for partners you’ll find an occasional blog and a guide to co-driving and some helpful tips that will hopefully assist those that are in the hot seat or looking to take up co-driving, if you have any you would like to add please feel free to drop me a line.
There is also a page on FAQ’s for competing in Belgium an always popular destination for UK crews, given it’s quality compact events and excellent beer, a Motorsport consultancy page that briefly outlines some of the services I can offer plus regular blogs from me that I hope will be of interest to you. I’ve also increased the links on the site to websites that I hope will be of useful to you as they are to me.
Thank you for taking time to read this and if you need an experienced International Co-driver or an Organiser and competitor to act as a consultant for your event or as mentor for competitors on either side of the car please visit the contact page.
Be sure to like HQ Motorsport on Facebook follow us on Twitter, @HQMotorsport, I also sometimes post photos on Instagram under the name of HQMotorsport.
